Well everyone, I figure why not start a little contest ya know? This will be for all our members and MEMBERS ONLY. If you take a look at our devious information on this page you'll see I attempted to make an I.D. that told people how to join and submit to the Akakaze group (which could help save journal space). Unfortunately, however, it didn't come out so good so here is your chance to make something for the group and see it showed off with pride!

Contest Rules:

1. Create an I.D similar to the one we have now.
2. Size must be 318x538
3. It must provide the same information as the current I.D on how to submit work and join the group.
4. If you would rather provide more details on how to join etc...then you can copy the stuff from this journal on how to join and submit
5. Have fun, use your imagination and if you want you can place you name on the work in the bottom right hand corner (in small font please...of course still see-able though )
6. When your done, send the link to Akakaze through a note titled "Entry"

We are a group dedicated to the creating of great symbols, logos, and icons for all kinds of purposes even if only useful to the creator, if it looks good...it's here!!!
`If you are thinking about joining us, here is what you will need to know:

1. Send a note to us including the following:
- Title the sent note as "Join"
- One logo, symbol and/or icon your have made (just show us what you can do!)
- Please make sure the picture is .jpg or .gif format
- Patiently wait for a response
- Once you recieve the "yes" or "no" (along with a sufficient reason) you'll know if your a member!

2. Once you are a member, feel free to submit as many works as you would like!
Here is what you will need to know when doing so:
- Make sure the piece of art is in good quality and not rushed, we wan't to maintain a level of...awesomeness in our gallery ^^
- Make sure the piece of work is either a Symbol, Logo, or Icon...
-To submit a piece of work send a note to us titled as "submit"
- Thats it!!!

Q: Do I have to join in order to submit my work?
A: Of course not! Just follow the sumbittion rules that would normally apply to members, thats all!

Q: What exactly do you consider a Logo, Symbol or Icon?
A: If you would like to know, read the bottom of this journal entry to see an explanation of each...but of course if it fits into the Logo-->Logotypes or Icons catagory here at DA then technically its acceptable!


*Meaning behind the "Akakaze Member":
All of our members, from the time they join, will be treated as equals..especially when it comes to their work..without ranks or special attention given to any individual. All of our members also start off joining the Akakaze group by submitting one of their works. This will jumpstart them to getting noticed by others and also giving them a chance to finally recieve comments and critisizm, if they wish, on there work from other people who are into and do the same thing that they do. Put simply, would you rather have someone who designs wallpapers leave comments on your particular work or others like you that can make useful symbols, logos and more and see oppurtunity in each and every one? Here is what the Akakaze group's Gallery is composed of:
Logos: Something that is done for perhaps a company, organization or stands for something like a band, an individual person, or anything else of personal or public meaning. Usally these hold a level of importance over symbols and icons.
Symbols: I like to think of symbols as reflections of how you feel towards something or maybe even somebody...could even be you But then again, they could really be anything you choose. These are usually images that are made with intent to represent something, from an "original" tattoo to an abstract shape to whatever else you can conjure up! A good example would be that of the three triangles that represent the "Tri Force" if you know of Link or played any of the Zelda Games.
Icons: Well icons are kind of like the the little pictures you see on your desktop to show you what each thing is or what kind of program it falls into. For instance the "msn icon" or "Recycle Bin" icon you may find on your desktop. An icon could even be a smily face for use in an instant messanger or a forum on a site. Remember, though usually small, icons can hold a great deal of importance and be very useful to people.
